Family Nurse Practitioner at Utah Body and Soul

Tracey Long, PhD, MS, MSN, RN, APRN-BC, CDCE, CCRN, CNE, COI, has worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in endocrinology, critical care, and primary care, earning degrees from Brigham Young University, Purdue University and UNLV. Dr. Long is a critical care clinical instructor, a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, has developed diabetes education programs and teaches a diabetes educator certification course. She has a passion for active learning and is an international speaker and award-winning educator.

Laurie Klipfel
Laurie Klipfel RN, MSN, ANP-BC, CDCES, WCC

Laurie Klipfel, RN, MSN, ANP-BC, CDCES, WCC®, has been a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist for over 20 years managing both inpatient and outpatient care for patients with diabetes. She has managed several hospital ADA-recognized diabetes education programs, is a Board-Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in endocrinology, and has a certification in wound care. Laurie is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists and past president of her local chapter. She is a certified insulin pump trainer and has published articles on use of insulin pumps for hospitalized patients. Her practical patient experiences, supported by clinical knowledge, provide a blend of information on how to treat diabetes today.

Jon Vredenburg
Jon Vredenburg MBA, RD, CDE, CSSD, LD/N

Jon Vredenburg, MBA, RD, CDE, CSSD, LD/N, is a dietitian and diabetes educator with over 25 years of experience providing services to people from all walks of life. He received his BS in Clinical Dietetics from Syracuse University and later returned to school to earn an MBA at the University of North Florida. He manages worksite wellness programs with an emphasis on diabetes self-management. He is a contributing worker to many local and national publications and has been featured on television and radio for helping people on their path towards improved health and well-being. Jon has also served as a consultant dietitian for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and is a Board-Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics. Jon, who is also a person with diabetes, uses humor as a teaching tool and even works as a stand-up comedian in clubs throughout the state of Florida.

Marlisa Brown
Marlisa Brown MS, RD, CDE, CDN

Marlisa Brown, MS, RD, CDE, CDN, is a registered dietitian, certified diabetes educator, chef, author, and international speaker. She is president of Total Wellness, Inc., a nutritional consulting company. Her passion is evident and recognized. Marlisa was awarded the Diabetes Educator of the Year from the American Dietetic Association and Dietician of the Year from the Long Island Association. She has served as past president, media representative, public relations, and bulletin chair for the New York State Dietetic Association. She serves on the “dlife professional counsel”, the online companion to CNBC’s premier diabetes program. In addition, Marlisa has presented across the country for many organizations, companies, and groups, including The American Association of Diabetes Educators, The New York State Dietetic Association, The Kennedy Space Center, Hofstra and Adelphi Universities, Goldman Sachs, Brookhaven National Labs, and The New York Jets.

Cheryl Aaron
Cheryl Aaron PT, DPT, CWS®

Dr. Cheryl Aaron has over 36 years of hands-on wound care experience in multiple clinical settings including private practice, acute, sub-acute, SNF, outpatient, and homecare venues. She is presently the owner of Advanced Wound Care Consultants, providing consultation, teaching, program development, survey readiness, and clinical competencies to the multidisciplinary wound care teams of Homecare agencies, hospitals, nursing and physical therapy schools and other organizations, both locally and nationally. Dr. Aaron is known for her lively, passionate delivery of her presentations with the latest evidence-based research and clinical guidelines. As a doctoral prepared Physical Therapist and nationally board Certified Wound Specialist® with the American Academy of Wound Management, she has a wealth of educational and work-related experience to draw from. Mechell Duran
Mechell Duran DNP, APRN, FNP-C, BC-ADM, CDCES, NBC-HWC, LCCE, DipACLM

Mechell Duran, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, BC-ADM, CDCES, NBC-HWC, LCCE, DipACLM, is a pregnancy health coach and the owner of sugarbumpcoach, a community where women with gestational diabetes can receive recipe ideas and evidenced based information on pregnancy through the 4th trimester on her blog sugarbump. She has over 15 years of healthcare experience as a nurse and family nurse practitioner in various practice settings from pediatrics to primary care, home care, endocrinology and most recently academia. Dr. Duran has a passion for lifestyle medicine, self-management support (SMS) and diabetes self-management education and support (DSMES). She has gained the American Diabetes Association recognition for a DSMES program she developed for a large hospital system in South Florida and is currently the primary investigator for a grant funded project implementing online education, coaching and support for people affected by Sickle Cell Anemia. Dr. Duran is also proud to be a HEAL scholar (Health Equity Achieved through Lifestyle Medicine) with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Matthew Kearney MS, MPAS, PA-C

Matthew Kearney, MS, MPAS, PA-C, graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a master’s degree in physician assistant studies. He also received a master of science degree in physiology from Penn State University, College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
